Trulli Apulia

Holidays in Apulia

Apulia is the wonderful heel of Italy. The entire southern region offers many ideas for an unforgettable holiday and it's well-known for some characteristics that render very unique the territory: a hot sun, a beautiful Mediterranean sea and a pleasant breeze that makes more bearable the heat summer.

The tourist strength of the region has its own center in the beautiful sea cities, lapped by clear waters and inspired by many cultural events and a lively nightlife.
If you want to go to Puglia you can not not ignore its natural landscape, protected by the National Parks of Gargano and the Murgia, the marine reserves of the Tremiti Islands and Torre Guaceto and many other areas instituted for the preservation of flora and fauna.

Very interesting is also the countryside of the Apulia: the famous “Trulli” (around the Itria Valley) have been declared a world heritage site; the ancient farms and oil mills are each year object of thousands of visits. These are all examples of the ancient and functional rural architecture!

As for the stunning architecture of Apulia it's recommended to visit the castles, almost all belonging to the Renaissance period. Buildings often incorporate previous constructions, as in the case of the castle of Acquarica Cape, Cupertino, Gallipoli and Otranto.

Who prefers a holiday in contact with nature can choose the adventurous excursions to the sinkholes and ravines. Given the high level of karst on the territory along these areas there will be a continual discovery of caves and charming rock villages.

And the pleasant surprise does not end there!

You can still visit and enjoy the saltpans and the relating history museum; the religious complex of Trani; the historic shipyards in Cala Fontanelle; the port of Brindisi and its fortifications; the castle and the Cathedral of Otranto and the Cathedral of S. Cataldo in Taranto.
